Welcome to roland's rc racing
Hello my name is Chad Roland. I have been racing in the PA, OH and WV regions for about 5 years now. Over the last few years I have spent a lot of time learning new setup skills and practicing as much as possible to improve my racing skills. Over the years I have met a lot of people ranging from newcomers to some of the top level pros. I am a currently a 2014 Tekno RC Team Driver. The products I currently use are SMC batteries, Hitec servos, Futuba radio systems, Tekin power train, Short Shift Paint Workz & Graphics bodies, Upgrade wings, JConcept and AKA tires, wheels and inserts.
So far I have pushed hard to be one of the top drivers in my region. Over the last two years I have won numerous series races and have placed very well at some larger events. I set goals to push myself harder at every event I enter. Like at the 1st Annual Serpent Challenge held at McCullough's Offroad Raceway in Sarver, PA. My goal was to make the podium in both E-Buggy and E-Truggy. Sadly I did not make my goal in E-Buggy. But took a solid 6th place finish. Now I met my goal in E-Truggy I took 2nd place behind the well known Joe Bornhorst and ahead of Serpent Team Manager Paul Ciccarello. Knowing I can run with these guys made me feel like I won the nationals. Especially with a gap between Joe and I of only 3.079 seconds.
Slowly I am achieving another one of my long time goals. And that is to help the local tracks stay open! With out the tracks we would have no place to race. So I set out to create a fascinating racing series called Tri-State RC Offroad Championship Series. This series is held in the PA, OH and WV region. So far we are having great success and fairly large turn outs for the first year. The series has helped out track owners with income to allow them to expand and upgrade their facilities.
If you are ever out in the Western PA region then stop by my home track. McCullough's Offroad Raceway at 108 Callen Road Sarver, PA 16055. Make sure you bring some race gear with you!
